BANGALORE: Tata Teleservices Limited has announced the launch of Photon+ , a high-speed Internet access service, in Bangalore.

Tata Teleservices plans to take the service next to Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Jaipur. Already available in Guwahati, Shilliong, Jammu, Srinagar and Chennai, the company will kick off an aggressive campaign including TVC’s similar to the ones featuring Bollywood diva Kajol after April when the roll out across major circles is complete.

“With the significant Internet penetration in India, it is becoming crucial for telecom service providers to meet the increasing consumer expectations. The awareness and demand for wireless Internet connectivity is increasing rapidly and with laptop and PC sales showing exponential growth, there is a huge demand for wireless high-speed Internet access,” said TTL Regional Head – South & Circle Operating officer – Karnataka Circle Sanjeev Khera.

The service is available at a price of Rs 3,500. Customers can now simply plug the USB Modem into the USB port of either their laptop or desktop PC and enjoy high-speed Internet connectivity. For the business segment, the router is available at a refundable security deposit of Rs 6,999 and a one-time activation fee of Rs 1,000. The router will enable simultaneous Internet use for multiple computers.
