MUMBAI: Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has extended the time to receive comments on consultation paper on licensing issues relating to Next Generation Network to 10 March.

Earlier Trai had set 27 February as the last date for submission of comments by the stakeholders.

While extending the time period, Trai said, “Some stakeholders have requested for further extension of time for sending their comments. In view of this, the authority has decided to extend the last date for submission of written comments by all stakeholders up to 10 March, 2009.”

Earlier on 27 January Trai had released consultation paper on licensing Issues relating to Next Generation Network with the viewpoint that there is need for a suitable regulatory framework to be established to encourage investments in New Generation Networks (NGN).
