MUMBAI: Toy developer and manufacturer Play Entertainment has launched vdoBUG Navigator, a DVD remote control device for toddlers. This will help small children choose and replay sections of a DVD without touching the original playback equipment.

The vdoBUG Navigator, shaped like a 'lady bug', features 10 buttons that correspond with 10 sections of the specially -authored DVD. It also sports a compartment for customised menu display cards overlaying identifying graphics for each of the ten buttons.

The company plans to introduce the vdoBUG with specifically produced DVD titles from a roster of recognised preschool brands. These include 'Baby Prodigy', an educational entertainment from birth to early years of childhood, 'Math Munchkins', a math program for ages 3-6 and 'Shushybye', a character-based sleep-themed lifestyle and entertainment brand that encourages toddlers and preschoolers to look forward to bedtime.

These will be authored specifically for vdoBUG and sold separately.

Play Entertainment president Larry Meyers said, "Children learn best from repetition. The vdoBUG is an ideal system because it enhances comprehension and subsequent learning."
