NEW DELHI: Time Warner Cable has elevated Glenn Britt, as Chairman. He was until now chief executive and director.

Britt will replace Don Logan, who will remain a director in the company’s board.

Meanwhile Donna A. James, Edward D. Shirley and former Senator John E. Sununu will also join the company's board, bringing the membership to 12.

Peter Haje, who has been on the board since 2006, has been promoted as lead director.

As announced earlier, Time Warner Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Jeff Bewkes will be leaving the board.

These appointments will become effective from the date of the company's separation from media corporation Time Warner, which owns 85 percent of Time Warner Cable shares.

Last week, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved Time Warner's plan to fully separate its cable unit, in which it owns an 85 per cent stake. With the separation, the company would focus more on movies, TV programming and magazines.
