HP launches Elitebook series notebook PCs

BANGALORE: HP India announced the launch of its Elitebook series notebook PCs, comprising of six premium business notebooks, today.

 

The Elitebook series is designed for the style conscious corporate mobile professional according to Anurag Arora, HP country manager for business notebooks, Personal Systems Group.

The series launched under the 'All muscle no fat' theme has been tested under military conditions and has 24-hour battery back claims Arora. HP, which claims a 30 per cent market share in India of the notebook PC in India, is targeting a 3 per cent of the overall Indian notebook PC market pie with the Elitebook series.

 
HP plans to achieve this through BTL activities and the internet, HP head of marketing PSG commercial & SMB Deepti Dang said. BTL activities include 'touch and feel', corporate road shows, initiatives such as 'Can you challenge the notebook', product placements, etc.

The company has tied up with Mont Blanc and will offer a Mont Blanc pen costing Rs. 22,900 free with some of its Elitebook notebook PCs' as a promotional offer.

HP has also planned print ads and outdoor hoardings in tier 2 and 3 towns. The company is betting big on the online space and has allocated almost 60 per cent of its marketing spends for the Elitebook series towards this medium, informed Dang further. It has also appointed an agency - Town Square for direct marketing the new series.

The HP Elitebook series comprising of 2530p, 2730p, 6930p, 8530p, 8730w and 8530w will be available in India within a price range of Rs.75,000 to Rs.150,000.
