MUMBAI: Riding high on its successful series of mobile games based on movies, Indiagames has launched a mobile game centered on the Anurag Kashyap-directed movie Dev D.

Targeted towards the youth, the mobile game of Dev D will be a “reel-to-real life” experience of the film’s protagonist Dev (Abhay Deol) for the subscribers.

"Bollywood based games have always been great hit with the Indian mobile gamers. This has given producers a tremendous opportunity to extend the experience of the film to a user's mobile screen. After seeing stupendous success with latest games like Ghajini and CC2C, we are very pleased to launch a game around Dev D. Dev D, being a youth oriented movie, has a perfect extension in gaming by which the Indian youth is today captivated. With creativity, interactivity and a very story oriented game play we are sure Dev D will be a great hit with the audience," says Indiagames CEO Vishal Gondal.

The film is a modern day take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic novel Devdas starring Abhay Deol as Devdas, Kalki as Chandramukhi, Mahi Gill as Paro, Dibyendu Bhattacharya as Chunilal and Asim Sharma as Paro's husband.

"Youth forms the key audience for a movie like Dev D. It's a new age film with which we have explored many new facets, gaming being one of them. I'm sure it would be a big hit with the audiences as they get to live the Dev character,” says Kashyap.
