MUMBAI: BBC World Service has announced a new regional content deal with MSN. This will see BBC Spanish and Portuguese (Brasil) text, video and audio content on ten MSN sites across Latin America.

The deal will extend the reach of BBC content across MSN's Spanish sites in Latin America, as well as MSN/Prodigy Mexico, MSN Latino in the USA and MSN Brasil (in Portuguese).

MSN will host BBC news content across its sites, which includes audio, video clips and text news.

Content will cover a broad news agenda including science, technology and culture, as well as international and regional politics.

BBC Global News director of strategy and business development Jim Egan says, "This is a hugely exciting partnership and a chance to reach new audiences with our Spanish and Portuguese language offerings. Our global perspective makes us a unique resource for news consumers in the Americas and this is another way for them to access BBC news and analysis."

MSN Americas regional executive product Greg Hayes says, "We are thrilled to be extending our partnering with the BBC, and providing unbiased content directly on MSN that is both relevant and engaging for our audience."

BBC text content has been available for the past few years on MSN/Prodigy Mexico, MSN Brasil and other MSN Latam sites.

The new arrangement will expand the content to all MSN Spanish sites for the Americas, as well as full multimedia facilities.
