| MUMBAI:
It's been quite sometime that Channel [V] from Star India has been headless. No
more. The management today in an internal memo announced that Star India senior
vice president - marketing Prem Kamath would be taking over as general manager
of Channel [V], which was once the clutter-cutter amongst music channels.
Kamath
has his work cut out for him. He has to get Channel [V] back in the game which
is today led by 9XM with its no VJ, all music programming lineup. Additionally,
old rival and resurgent MTV India is now being managed by Viacom18, which has
made Colors a phenomenal success. Also
Kamath's predecessor Mohit Anand could do very little in terms of bringing about
change within the channel while he held its reins for around six months. Anand,
on his part, had stepped into the shoes of Amar Deb who had been running Channel
[V] for around eight years. Meanwhile, Star India executive vice-president
Anupam Vasudev will take on the additional responsibility (created by Kamath's
promotion) at Star India. Also
