Electronic Arts to create GI Joe video game

MUMBAI: Electronic Arts (EA), a US-based game development company, is ready to bring out Hasbro’s GI Joe brand to all major console and handheld gaming platforms to coincide with the release of the movie GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra.

The film, a co-production berween Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment, is slated for an August release.

 

EA will unveil the first look of the GI Joe video game at the Toy Fair in New York City. The fair will be held from 15-17 February.

 

According to the company, the GI Joe video game will feature a storyline that picks up where the movie leaves off. The game will feature 12 GI Joe characters, each with unique abilities and weapons.

There will be a single-screen co-op mode allowing two players to easily unite as a team in a struggle between good and evil as they work together to defeat the powers of the Cobra organisation. The video game is under development for Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system, Playstation 3 computer entertainment system, WiiTM, PlayStation 2, PSP (PlayStation®Portable), Nintendo DSTM, and mobile devices.
