Sony to revive 10 pm slot with Bollywood filmmakers

MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television (Set), which was airing repeats in the 10 pm slot, has roped in four Bollywood filmmakers to produce 12 episodic tele-series for its special programme, Specials@10.

Madhur Bhandarkar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Vikram Bhatt and Anurag Kashyap, who have produced a string of hit movies, will now try to revive the ratings for Sony.

Starting 2 March, Sony will have stories from these Bollywood filmmakers on a weekly basis from Monday-Thursday at 10 pm.

Since December, Sony has been airing repeat telecasts of Meet Mila De Rabba and Hum Ladkiyan in the 10-11 pm band. The original run of these two shows is in the 8-9 pm time slot.

Says Set head of programming Gurdip Bhangoo, "In our efforts to revive good television, not only through content and relatable subjects, but also through people who are master craftsmen and have classic story telling methods, we bring to the viewers Specials@10. We are sure these stories will cut across all barriers and resonate with the audiences as they are about ordinary people and their extraordinary experiences."

The tele-series will witness the return of actors to screen such as Shehnaz Patel, Amit Behl, Achla Sachdev and KK Raina.
