MUMBAI: SPE Networks - Asia has acquired the rights for NCIS: Los Angeles. The show will air on AXN next year.

The move will strengthen the relationship between CBS Studios International and Sony. For many years, AXN has enjoyed first-run rights for all the three CSI franchises.

SPE Networks - Asia senior VP, GM Ricky Ow says, "I am delighted to have extended our partnership with CBS Studios International. The CSI franchise has worked wonders for AXN through the years, making us the undisputed Home of CSI in Asia and propelling AXN to be the region's top English general entertainment destination.

"NCIS: Los Angeles has been one of the top performers this season and its high-impact, fast-paced action will resonate well with our viewers. I strongly believe that this show will be the next big hit on AXN, maintaining our position among the very best."

In addition to this show SPE Networks - Asia has also acquired two other titles, Melrose Place and Three Rivers for its female-skewing channel Sony Entertainment Television (SET). Melrose Place is the refreshed version of the 1992 drama series.

Three Rivers is a medical procedural series starring Daniel Henney X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

CBS Studios International executive VP, sales Barry Chamberlain says, "We are delighted to be partnering with SPE Networks throughout Asia on three of our high profile new series this season: Three Rivers, the new Melrose Place and NCIS: Los Angeles. With NCIS: Los Angeles' quick ascent as the number one new show on television in the US, we are confident that SPE Networks will find equal success in Asia."
