MUMBAI: In a deal with Indovision, MGM Networks is set to launch a local-language version of the MGM Channel this month in Indonesia on its platform.

The channel that joins Indovision's movie package is also available on the basic tiers of both Okevision and TOP TV.

The programming will soon be sub-titled into Bahasa Indonesian and will comprise a broad range of titles from the MGM movie catalogue including A Fish Called Wanda, Mississippi Burning, Manhattan and Throw Momma from the Train.

Indovision, Okevision and TOP TV join MGM Channel clients First Media and Telekom Indonesia in distributing the channel to subscribers across this pay-TV market.

"We are honoured to have this opportunity to work with Indovision and entertain their growing ranks of customers that represents one of the largest DTH subscriber bases in Asia," said MGM Networks president Bruce Tuchman.

"The Indonesian market continues to impress us with its dynamism and enormous potential. And now that Indovision and its affiliated DTH services-Okevision and TOP TV-join our friends at First Media and Telkomvision in bringing hand-picked selections from the legendary MGM film library to their subscribers, The MGM Channel's reach spans all across Indonesia," he added.

It must be interesting to note that Star has already added nine channels from its bouquet to Indovision's DTH platform of which five are Hindi language services, two are Mandarin language serviceswhile the rest are two international news channels.

The nine channels compliment Star World, Star Movies and Channel [V] International that are already available on the platform.
