| MUMBAI:
The Walt Disney Company (Asia Pacific) and Hong Kong Disneyland have renewed their
alliance with Visa. Under
the fresh contract, Visa will continue to be the official card of Hong Kong
Disneyland Resort. Additionally, the new agreement will further extend to
other businesses including Studio Entertainment (Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney
Music Group, Disney Theatrical Productions), Disney Interactive Media Group and
Disney Consumer Products. It
will also allow Visa to have the exclusive right to first negotiations on sponsorship,
promotional and marketing opportunities that involve Disney-branded initiatives.
The
deal will cover Asia Pacific regions (excluding Japan) and represents an extension
of the original 2005 agreement. Effective immediately, the deal will be in place
until 2014. Visa will extend promotional offers at Hong Kong
Disneyland Resort to its cardholders through selected card-issuing banks, including
special dining and accommodation offers at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disneys
Hollywood Hotel. It will also give away special merchandise offers at the Resort.
"The renewed corporate alliance relationship between Disney and Visa
supports broad and comprehensive integrated marketing opportunities for Visa and
its 600 Asia Pacific client banks and Hong Kong Disneyland, Disney's movies, live
entertainment shows, interactive media, and consumer retail promotions,"
said The Walt Disney Company senior vice president - corporate alliances Lawrence
Aldridge. "With
this alliance, we are able to increase the value we bring to our client banks
to help them cater to their Visa cardholders and we hope that Visa cardholders
across the region will take advantage of the deals and services that have been
and will be made available to them, added Visa general manager marketing
- Asia Pacific Rajiv Kapoor.
