MUMBAI: The Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (Casbaa) will stage the ninth Casbaa Satellite Industry Forum on 15 June in Singapore.

Decision-making executives from the satellite industry drawn from around the world will share their insights and address issues for the Asia Pacific market.

Themed 'Over the Horizon', the one day high-powered annual conference will cover critical issues including the future for satcoms technology, the latest business models and the road to profitability; how CEOs are coping with today’s financial challenges; the potential businesses of Ku-band satellite systems and satellite services for mobile users.

At the forum SES New Skies CEO Rob Bednarek and Viasat chairman and CEO Mark Dankberg will deliver keynote addresses.

Other speakers will include Tata Sky MD and CEO Vikram Kaushik, Eutelsat marketing director Matteo Altobelli, Indovision Indonesia CEO and president Rudy Tanoesoedibjo, Hughes India president Pranav Roach and Asiasat CEO Peter Jackson

Casbaa CEO Simon Twiston Davies says, “The new demand for spectrum devoted to HDTV, interactive and broadband TV content is driving the market. The opportunities, for both FSS and DTH, are enormous.

“On top of this, the industry also expects to see new demand emerging from still undeveloped video services such as mobile TV and the further deployment of Vsat networks.”

The Casbaa Satellite Industry Forum 2009 is sponsored by Arianespace.
