MUMBAI: Emerging Media Group's IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals has appointed Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as its technology partner.

As per the agreement, TCS will offer expertise in IT solutions to the T20 cricket team on and off the field for the next three years.

Says Rajasthan Royals vice chairman Ranjit Barthakur, "TCS will help us raise the bar, not just on field but more critically off the field as well. We hope this association will help us strengthen our multiple fan contact opportunities on web and mobile platforms."

"Partnering with Rajasthan Royals and entering into the IPL is the first big step for us. We intend to partner with global champions across different sporting arenas and work with them to enhance their performance and operations on an ongoing basis," adds TCS head global marketing Jayant Pendharkar.

TCS is also a tech partner of racing major Ferrari for Formula One and Ducati for bike racing. Earlier, the company has offered consultation on lateral thinking and communication strategies to the Indian national cricket team.

It has also advised the BCCI on organisational structure and effective usage of tech solutions, said TCS in a release.
