DELHI: Indian industrialists who own IPL team franchises, are looking at the shift
in venue to South Africa as an opportunity to expose their brands in the international
arena.
India Cements, which owns Chennai Super Kings, sees this as an opportunity to
push its brand. A senior executive said the IPL would provide the company the
exposure even as it had plans to travel overseas. The extra expenses in any case
would be marginal as the IPL management had said that it would bear the costs.
Expressing
confidence that the team would enjoy high success, India Cements executive president
TS Raghupathy said: We are sure of replicating the success of the first
edition. We have a well-rounded team now and our mix of overseas and local players
will be a formidable team. Earlier,
team frachises had told Indiantelevision.com that though there was a downside
in the IPL matches not being played in India, the upswing was that the teams would
get to be known internationally. |
