MUMBAI: Indiagames, a UTV enterprise, is planning to launch a full game download service wherein gamers will be able to download full versions of the latest games and own them.

Says Indiagames CEO Vishal Gondhal, "The planning of the full game download service is still in a nascent stage and we have not yet decided the subscription model for the same. We plan to launch it the next few months."

When asked if content from Electronic Arts (EA) would be available under the full download service, Gondhal says, "We are yet to decide on the content."

Recently, Indiagames had announced that Electronic Arts' (EA) games will be available on its online games-on-demand service (GoD) for a monthly subscription fee of Rs 199.

With this service, gamers can play key EA titles such as Battlefield 2, NBA Live 07, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, EA Sports Cricket 07 and The Sims 2 and more of key EA titles.

Gondhal says, "EA games has almost a 60 per cent market share in India and they were one of the most important clients we could partner with. With approximately 95 per cent of piracy in the Indian game market, EA on GoD will help fight it."

"With this service, we are offering customers original games at much less rates as compared to even a pirated copy. It's already available and gamers can access it on BSNL, MTNL, Airtel and other broadband services," he adds.

Meanwhile, gamers can also opt for a cheaper version and choose the Rs 100 subscription model and make use of the 'casual games' service.
