MUMBAI:
Polish channel Telewizja Polska SA (TVP) has bagged the television
rights and will be the official broadcaster of the Uefa Euro
2012 football matches in Poland.
TVP
will provide coverage of all the 31 Uefa matches. This follows
the tender process in respect of the European media rights
to Uefa Euro 2012, which was launched on 6 February.
TVP
will telecast the game on its free-to-air and pay-television
channels TVP 1, TVP 2, TVP Sport and TVP HD, as well as on
its website, tvp.pl.
"Uefa
is delighted to welcome TVP as the first member of the group
of Uefa Euro 2012 official broadcasters. To have a broadcast
partner in place in one of the host countries at such an early
stage will be beneficial for the promotion of the tournament,"
says Uefa general secretary David Taylor.
The
European soccer champoionship will be co-hosted by Poland
and Ukraine.
