MUMBAI: Polish channel Telewizja Polska SA (TVP) has bagged the television rights and will be the official broadcaster of the Uefa Euro 2012 football matches in Poland.

TVP will provide coverage of all the 31 Uefa matches. This follows the tender process in respect of the European media rights to Uefa Euro 2012, which was launched on 6 February.

TVP will telecast the game on its free-to-air and pay-television channels TVP 1, TVP 2, TVP Sport and TVP HD, as well as on its website, tvp.pl.

"Uefa is delighted to welcome TVP as the first member of the group of Uefa Euro 2012 official broadcasters. To have a broadcast partner in place in one of the host countries at such an early stage will be beneficial for the promotion of the tournament," says Uefa general secretary David Taylor.

The European soccer champoionship will be co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine.
