| MUMBAI:
SkyPerfecTV has retained the media rights of Uefa for three years through to 2012
in Japan.
As part of this agreement, weekly Uefa Champions League highlights
and magazines as well as the full transmission of the final stages of each competition
will be shown on free-to-air television. The broadcaster will also exploit the
rights it has been awarded for both competitions on the internet via skyperfectv.co.jp
and also on mobile.
The
rights concern the 2009-12 Uefa Champions League, the Uefa Super Cup matches in
2009, 2010 and 2011 and the 2009-2012 Uefa Europa League.
SkyPerfecTV,
a leading pay operator in Japan, will deliver extensive coverage of each competition
in the form of live matches, highlights and delayed match programmes.
Said
Uefa General Secretary David Taylor, "Uefa is delighted
to confirm these new rights deals which will deliver significant
coverage for both competitions over the next three seasons
in Japan.
"SkyPerfecTV has proved to be an excellent partner for
the Uefa Champions League in recent seasons and we also look
forward to continuing that relationship in the new-look Uefa
Europa League."
