MUMBAI: Zee Cinema is kicking off a month-long film festival on the channel - ‘Mohe Mithunda Se Milawade’ – starting 2 May.

For the same, the channel has collaborated with network’s Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) Zee TV’s popular dance reality show ‘Lux Dance India Dance’ (DID),

The festival, which is dedicated to Mithun Chakraborty, will showcase Mithunda’s movies.

In this cross-channel promotion, the two channels will celebrate Mitunda’s Journey from being the Disco Dancer to ‘GrandMaster Mithunda’, on the sets of DID.

The channel will run a contest during the telecast of the movies wherein viewers would have to answer questions based on Mithunda. Three winners with maximum correct SMS will get an opportunity to witness the Grand Finale of DID and meet the Grandmaster personally.

Zee Cinema business head Mohan Gopinath said, “While ‘Lux Dance India Dance’ is one of the top ten shows on GECs, Zee Cinema as a leader constantly tries to innovate. We wanted to take this opportunity to bring Mithunda’s fans closer to him by providing them a platform. Also, given the soaring popularity of the show, it would be an added benefit for the winner to witness the grand finale.”

The channel will air films like The Don, Watan Ke Rakhwale, Aadmi and Phool Aur Angaar every Saturday at 4 pm.
