MUMBAI: GMR promoter Grandhi Mallikarjun Rao is now said to be looking to buy the Liverpool EPL club.

Rao, worth over $6 billion, is considering a major investment in Liverpool after its co-owner Tom Hicks has approached him for a sponsorship, media reports state.

GMR owns the Delhi Daredevils IPL franchise.

A representative of the GMR group was present in the directors’ box for last Tuesday’s 4-4 draw with Arsenal.

American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett, reports state, want to sell the club for 450 million pounds or invite huge investment to back Liverpool's re-emergence as a title force.
