MUMBAI: Bangalore-based multi-system operator Atria Convergence Technologies (ACT), which launched its IPTV services in Bangalore in February this year, has selected Verismo's VuNow Internet TV platform to deploy the services.

California-based IPTV service provider Verismo's VuNow internet TV platform enables conversion of TV sets into digital device.

VuNow's technology enables ACT customers to enjoy their personal content plus videos available on the Internet - from YouTube videos to live Internet channels - on their televisions.

"We are excited to launch IPTV service in Bangalore. Verismo's VuNow platform offers flexibility, performance and ease of use to ensure the successful delivery of interactive TV services," says Act TV MD Sunder Raju.

ACT also announced plans for value-added programming and services, including multi-user gaming, email and voicemail, online shopping, remote education, banking, cooking programs, city and weather information on the television set.

Verismo Networks CEO Prakash Bhalerao says, "Act TV is embracing the future of home entertainment and is playing a leading role in bringing a new generation of interactive content and TV services to India said."

After rolling its services in Bangalore, the multi-system operator (MSO) also plans to expand its IPTV service to other cities in India.
