NEW DELHI: With Headend-In-The-Sky (HITS) being the main plank, Wire & Wireless (India) Ltd. has shifted its corporate office from Mumbai to Delhi.

"We have shifted from 1 April. It is a strategic decision as our uplinking centre for HITS would be from Noida. This move will also help us reduce our cost of operations," says WWIL vice president marketing Deviprasad Ghosh.

The company has also been streamlining its employee strength, particularly in the area of analogue cable.

WWIL is awaiting Sebi (Securities and Exchange Board of India) clearance to go ahead with its proposed Rs 4.5 billion rights issue. The Zee group demerged cable TV company will need to pump in investments for the HITS project which is currently on trial run.

The group has a licence for HITS, but the government is yet to frame a policy for this technology which will provide multi-system operators a national footprint and speed up the digitisation process in the country.
