MUMBAI: DTS Digital cinema has teamed up with Qube cinema, a subsidiary of India-based Real Image Media Technologies, to market their digital cinema products.

The products that will be marketed through the alliance include cinema servers, theatre management systems, digital cinema mastering solutions and allied products. These will be displayed at ShoWest 2009.

A multi-format DTS DC-20 digital cinema server, powered by Qube that supports JPEG2000, MPEG-2, windows media9 and other picture formats, will be available in the market this April. It also features a panel with transport and menu controls for projectionist control and a web-based interface for advanced functionality over any IP network.

QubeMaster Pro - the digital cinema encoding and packaging solution from Qube is designed to integrate the modern post environment. It's a software-based solution for the Microsoft windows platform.

"The alliance between Qube and DTS Digital cinema will enable us to bring digital cinema products to market. Our ambition is to replace the historic DTS cinema audio systems currently present on 33,000 screens worldwide," says Digital Cinema CEO and president Chris Thomas.

A management team from both the companies is been deployed in place to oversee the alliance on an ongoing basis.

"We are delighted to enter into alliance with DTS Digital Cinema and believe that it will bring to the theater owner a comprehensive, cost-effective and dependable digital cinema experience. We respect the pioneering work of DTS in digital cinema sound and are confident that this alliance will be much more than the sum of its parts and bring benefits to the industry," said Qube Cinema president and CTO Rajesh Ramachandran.

The alliance will also offer a co-branded product by the second quarter of 2009.
