DELHI: French broadcaster TF1 is in talks to buy selected assets from French media
group AB. TF1
presently owns 33.5 per cent of AB group and the two companies each own 40 per
cent stake in TMC channel. With
this, TF1 would get stronger foothold in the digital terrestrial market especially
at a time when its audience is declining due to increase in competition from the
Internet and digital terrestrial channels. Claude
Berda owns majority of AB Groupe. Berda founded AB Productions with Jean-Luc Azoulay
in 1977 and the two partners separated in 1999. |
