Football legend John Madden has ended his tenure from NBC. Madden 73, better known
as sportscasting icon who won a Super Bowl as a coach, announced his retirement
Thursday last. Madden
retires after 30 years of broadcasting football games on TV networks such as ABC,
CBS, FOX and NBC. He joined Fox as the lead NFL analyst from 1994-2002, worked
for ABC as an analyst for ABC's 'Monday Night Football' show for four years and
later joined NBC sports in 2006. Madden,
named among the most honoured and popular football broadcasters in America, says
"I feel this is the right time to call it a day. There's nothing wrong with
me and it's not that I'm tired of traveling." Madden
started his career as NFL coach in 1967 and later became the youngest coach in
American Football League at age of 33. He won 16 Emmy awards. |
