MUMBAI:
Television content provider Endemol India is venturing into
the gaming business and call TV format shows.
The
production house will develop gaming software on the format
shows that it holds license for. Some of the format shows
that Endemol India is looking to develop into gaming software
include Deal or No No Deal, Set for Life and 1 vs
100, among others.
The
production house is planning a strategic alliance with a gaming
company. Endemol India will hold the gaming rights of all
the shows.
Endemol
India country head Deepak Dhar said, "We are talking
to various broadcasters to license out the gaming software
for our shows. From now on, we will try to do a simultaneous
launch of the gaming software along with its launch on various
TV channels."
Besides,
the production house is stepping into Call TV format shows.
Dhar said that Endemol India is looking for Hindi general
entertainment channels and Hindi news channels to launch Call
TV format shows. Call TV is a show wherein viewers can interact
with the TV show host through a mobile. The theme for Call
TV show may vary from astrology to cooking recipe.
Dhar
said, As of now Call TV initiative is at the initial
stage of formulation. We will be introducing th Call TV shows
by the year-end."
Endemol India is also foraying into the lucrative regional
content space. For this purpose, it is firming up a team.
Endemol
will first step into southern language content and is currently
in talks with various broadcasters like Sun TV, Raj TV and
Maa TV. Later it will expand to the Bengali and Marathi language
markets.
Endemol India will launch by the year-end two fiction-based
and a couple of reality shows that include Divided, Wipe
Out, Set fot Life, 1 vs 100 and Kids Are Alright.
