ICL adds four players

MUMBAI: The Indian Cricket League (ICL) has recruited four more players.

All-rounder Tahir Mughal, Shahid Yousuf and Hafeez Khaleel are the Pakistani domestic recruits to have joined the Lahore Badshahs.

22-year-old top-order batsman Nazimuddin will play for the newly formed Dhaka Warriors.

Earlier this month the ICL had announced its ninth team in the Dhaka Warriors. They will be led by Habib-Ul-Bashar and coached by Balwinder Singh Sandhu. The Bangladesh cricket board then responded by issuing a ten-year ban on these players.

The ICl has also recruited former Pakistan Test player Nadeem Khan as an assistant coach for the Lahore Badshahs‘ side.

Meanwhile the Sri Lankan Sports Minister Gamini Lokuge is said to be unhappy at the decision of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) interim committee to revoke the local ban on the national cricketers who have signed contracts with the ICL. He does not want the SLC to be against the BCCI or the ICC. He added that he is entiled to re-impose the ban.

Lokuge has also been quoted in reports saying that he wants Indian Premier League (IPL) contracted Sri Lankan players to take part in that event next year rather than play in the England tour.
