MUMBAI : NDTV Network has appointed Ajay Mankotia as president - corporate planning and operations. In his new post, he will head NDTV's shared services centre and be incharge of tax planning and compliance across the Group. He will be part of the management team overseeing corporate planning and strategy.

Prior to joining NDTV, Mankotia was the commissioner of income tax, Varanasi. With experience in assessing banks, financial institutions, PSUs and foreign companies in the last 25 years, he was closely associated with the investigations into the securities scam of 1992.

He has played a key role in dealing with huge levels of tax evasion and fraud as a member of the Delhi and Mumbai investigation wings. He was also the chief vigilance officer with the National Fertilizers Ltd, a mini ratna PSU.

NDTV Group CEO K V L Narayan Rao said, “His rich experience in government and taxation makes him the ideal person to supervise matters relating to compliance, corporate structures and multi-jurisdictional taxation and also assist the Group on matters relating to policy, ethics and governance.”
