The
double bench judge of the Delhi High Court
has allowed Prasar Bharati this carriage
amount, a move that was hotly contested
by some broadcsaters. The
court has also directed the Telecom Disputes
Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (Tdsat)
to dispose the following petition within
a months time from the date of passed
order.
Prasar
Bharati had challenged Tdsat's order limiting
DD Plus's carriage fee to Rs 2.5 million
per channel. After Delhi
High Courts single judge bench upheld
Tdsats order, Prasar Bharati filed
a letter patent appeal (LPA) before the
double bench judge.
