Jawahar Goel stays as IBF president

NEW DELHI: While Dish TV managing director Jawahar Goel has been selected as the president of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) for the third consecutive year, the chief executive officer of Prasar Bharati BS Lalli has been elected to the Board of Directors for the first time since the last CEO KS Sarma left more than two years ago.

NDTV Group CEO KVL Narayan Rao continues as IBF vice-president for the second term while I Venkat will remain as Honorary Treasurer.

The IBF in its ninth AGM held here yesterday elected five new Directors apart from Lalli. They are Times Global Broadcasting CEO Chintamani Rao, TV Today CEO and executive director G Krishnan, Multi Screen Media (formerly Set India) CEO Kunal Dasgupta, Star India president Paritosh Joshi and ESPN Software India MD RC Venkateish.

The IBF Board of Directors also co-opted Network18 CEO Haresh Chawla, INX Media chairman Peter Mukerjea, and India TV chairman Rajat Sharma to the board.

The board now has a total of 12 members apart from those who have been co-opted. The others are: Narayan Rao, Sahara India Council Director Mahesh Prasad, Sri Adhikari Brothers vice chairman & MD Markand Adhikari, and Star India CEO Uday Shankar.
