MUMBAI: Tektronix, which provides test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, has announced that the new Philips High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) Authorised Testing Centre (ATC) in Bangalore has adopted the Tektronix HDMI V1.3b1 Compliance Test Solution (CTS).

The adoption of Tektronix HDMI compliance test solution by Philips, one of the key founders of HDMI, reinforces Tektronix leadership for high-speed serial data and HDMI test solutions.

HDMI is a high-speed serial data interface between any audio/video source, such as a set-top box, DVD player, next generation gaming console or A/V receiver and an audio and/or video monitor, such as a digital television (DTV), over a single cable. According to a recent iSuppli study, globally, HDMI-enabled equipment is likely to reach 772.8 million units by 2012 from 193 million units in 2007.

India is expected to have a significant share of this market as it is among the largest markets in the world for consumer and digital electronics. Tektronix is a leader in this segment with a proven and widely adopted HDMI V1.3b1 compliance test solution. Besides Philips, other market leaders who have adopted Tektronix for HDMI compliance testing include Sony, Silicon Image and Panasonic.

The Tektronix compliance test solution for CTS V1.3b1 includes hardware and software including the DSA71604 Oscilloscope with TDSHT3 HDMI 1.3b1 Compliance Test Software; a DTG5334 Data Timing Generator; an AWG7102 Arbitrary Waveform Generator; a DSA8200 Digital Serial Analyzer Sampling Oscilloscope and P7313SMA Differential SMA Probes.
