MUMBAI: Delhi-based Home Cable Networking has selected Media Nucleus for its subscriber management system (SMS) software for their conditional access system (Cas) launch.

Home Cable is launching its digital services on two platforms - Enigma and ABV ‘new Ocean’ Cas.

This would be the third multi-system operator after 7 Star, ICC Network and Home Digital (Mumbai) to use Media Nucleus's SMS platform for the launch of digital services. Additionally, Spize Telecom and ORG's DTH arm in Europe are also utilising the services of Media Nucleus for their SMS operations.

"We are happy to be selected by Home Cable Delhi as this would be our first client up north and also enable us to create a foot print in Delhi especially as Cas is being rolled out. This also showcases our expertise in various genres of Digital TV operations across the continent," said Media Nucleus India operations head Santosh Nair.

"Home Cable Network had launched its digital Cas services, when it was mandated in the January 2007. Virtual card Cas solution of Enigma was used and now Home Cable has decided to start simulcrypt using ABV Cas (smart card based solution) as well continue with Enigma (embedded box) Cas," added Home Cable Network director Vikki Choudhary. "For a SMS to simulataneously run the simulcrpt Enigma and well ABV Cas, Media Nucleas has been entrusted to do the integration, support and training."

Media Nucleus earlier had bagged the traffic and broadcast system development duties of HomeShop18 and Mahuaa TV. Its businesses include subscriber management system for Cas, DTO and DTH, broadcast management and traffic scheduler software.
