India TV launches interactive media company ITVI

MUMBAI: Rajat Sharma’s India TV has floated a new company India TV Interactive (ITVI) to foray into new media platforms and value-added services.

 

Arvind Mahendru who has joined ITVI as SVP (new media) will head the company. He will report directly to India TV managing director Ritu Dhawan. Mahendru has moved in from GroupM where he was working as the managing partner.

“I am delighted to kick-start such an ambitious foray into new media with one of the most highly-regarded new media specialists in our industry. Arvind has a rich and diverse repertoire and I have no doubt that he will drive the exciting area of developing and monetising new media solutions for India TV brand to dizzy heights,” says India TV chairman Rajat Sharma.

 
Among his earlier positions, Mahendru has worked as GM (marketing) Bharti Airtel Limited, where he headed content acquisition for broadcast TV, games and international film based content for VoD (video on demand) services for the IPTV, broadband, mobile and DTH platforms. Prior to Bharti, Mahendru was chief manager, Broadband, Times Internet Limited.
