MUMBAI:
TV workers continued their agitation this morning, with none
of them reporting for work. The FWICE yesterday scrapped the
MoU it signed with the producers associations the day before
that, as its member associations said that the wage increases
agreed to in it were not acceptable to them.
Since
morning the Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE)
office compound in the Andheri (W) suburb of Mumbai had a
collection of workers from various unions waiting to have
their demands heard. All shoots of TV shows had been called
off.
At
the time of writing, the FWICE will be meeting the 22 unions
representing various crafts at 4 pm.
The
producers, meanwhile, were huddled together to find a resolution
from the impasse which had developed.
Stay
tuned for further developments...
