MUMBAI:
The organisers of the upcoming Champions League T20 have commissioned
French jeweller and luxury brand Cartier to create the trophy
for the winners of the tournament to be played in Mumbai,
Bangalore and Chennai from 3 to 10 December.
The
hand-sculpted trophy will measure 41 cm in height, with a
diameter of 31 cm and weigh just over seven kilos. The trophy
will be unveiled in December just prior to the inaugural match
of the Champions League.
Champions
League 20:20 chairman Lalit Modi says, "Cartier has created
some truly exquisite and stunning works of art, be it in jewellery
design, watches and accessories, that have adorned Hollywood
beauties and Royalty alike."
