MUMBAI:
Bull Dog Media has acquired the international format of Amnesia
from US-based Mark Burnett to show it in India.
Bull Dog is in talks with several Hindi general entertainment
channels including Star Plus to sell the format show.
Says
Bull Dog Media MD Akash Sharma, "We have collaborated
with Mark Burnett for Amnesia. Amnesia is a concept
which takes a contestant through their own lives. It
is a prize money show of which the amount is yet not finalised.
All I can say is that it will not be less than Rs 20 million.
The show will majorly be on similar lines as the international
show, but we will Indianise it by bringing in celebs and a
host who is a larger than life Bollywood actor."
Launched
in February, Amnesia is currently on NBC at 8 pm on
Friday. Contestants win money by answering questions about
their own lives. The show is about people who can't remember
events in one's life. Like some can't even recall the colour
of their wife's bridal outfit. The show is a mix of entertainment,
variety and reality.
"It's
interesting to know how many people don't remember what's
happened in their lives," says Sharma. "The connect
with the audiences will be great. Initially we have a minimum
of 13 week run and it's yet to be decided whether it will
be a week end show."
Recently
Bull Dog Media acquired the format show Are You Smarter
than a Fifth Grader? (Indian version is Kya Aap Panchvi
Pass Se Tez Hain? which is on Star Plus). The show is
produced by Synergy Adlabs.
Bull
Dog Media has also got license of the international format
shows Nouveau Rich Nouveau Pobre and America's Next
Top Model.
