MUMBAI: Verizon and Starz Entertainment have signed a multi-year agreement to bring movies from Starz to Verizon’s 8.5 million DSL customers in US.

 

The deal also secures the full array of Starz products for Verizon’s FiOS TV and FiOS Internet and high speed internet (DSL) customers.

 
Starz Play will be a subscription-based video download service for delivering movies and other video content over the web. It will offer a wide variety of movies, classics, extreme sports, concerts, anime, westerns and original programming.

The Starz Play service will include unlimited downloads from a library of 1,000 movies and 2,500 other video titles, plus a live stream of the Starz movie channel.

According to the release, users of other broadband services can subscribe to the service via credit card. Starz Play costs $5.99 a month.

Starz Entertainment is a wholly owned subsidiary of Douglas County-based Liberty Media Corp.
