MUMBAI:
Galleon Holdings, the intellectual property owner, manager
and developer, has named MILIA award winner Mahesh Ramachandra
as global director of entertainment. Galleon Holdings CEO
Stephen Green made the announcement.
In
his new role at Galleon, Ramachandra will oversee Galleon's
convergent media strategy. He will monetise the company's
portfolio of entertainment properties across multiple platforms
and territories, particularly the recently launched multi-platform
hit show Super Soccer Star.
"Galleon's
success with its Super Soccer Star format has opened
the door to the company's other leading-edge multiplatform
properties. His appointment comes at a time of aggressive
growth for Galleon and Mahesh's wealth of multimedia and interactive
TV expertise globally and especially in Asia will make him
an invaluable asset to expand our business activities,"
said Green.
"Galleon
is in an expanding phase and Asia represents a huge opportunity
at present," added Ramachandra. "The company has
strong and unique multi-platform brands and I look forward
to adding to its success."
Prior
to Galleon, Ramachandra served as VP international and product
development at Cellcast, overseeing interactive format programming
across Cellcast's global network.
With
over 11 years of experience in interactive media, he won the
'Young Talent' award at MILIA 1997 in Cannes after founding
Magnetica New Media Design in Singapore, specialised in the
development of interactive content.
Ramchandra
then moved on to Singapore-based SPH MediaWorks Ltd, Asian
Broadcaster of the Year 2003, as VP New Media where he pioneered
interactive advertising campaigns, enhanced television programmes
and fully-interactive SMS-to-TV multiplayer games.
