MUMBAI: Reliance Communications (RComm) will hold 33 per cent in the joint venture with French-American telecom equipment provider Alcatel-Lucent.

The JV, which is set to first provide managed services for RComm's CDMA and GSM networks in India, expects to garner a revenue of $500 million in five to seven years.

The venture also plans to take up projects with other firms and in overseas markets.

"The joint venture will support the expansion and growth of Reliance Communications, bringing in greater operational efficiency," said Reliance Communications network head Sandip Biswas while addressing the press.

The global market for managed network services is expected to reach $16 billion by 2012.

RComm, India's second-largest mobile operator, offers CDMA services and expects to complete its GSM services roll-out by the end of calendar 2008.
