NEW DELHI: ASUS today launched ASUS-Lamborghini VX3 series laptop and ZX1 luxury handset.

"The launch of the Lamborghini ZX1 PDA phone and the VX3 notebook marks ASUS' entry into the ultra-premium segment in India," said ASUS General Manager Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa Benson CL Lin.

The VX3 is priced at Rs 200,000. It is based on Intel's next generation Penryn-based CPU and has a 12.1" wide screen with a resolution of 1280 X 1200 pixels. The product also has various luxurious details tagged along. Using the signature Lamborghini colours, yellow and black, the laptop has sapphire crystal panel, a titanium hinge backbone and a premium leather bound palm rest. A lot of Lamborghini's designs have also been adapted into the product to let the user have the feel of the car.

Also unveiled today was the ZX1 handset which is a 3.5 G phone. The PDA has a 2.8" touch screen, a 9-way navigation and a racing user interface that can be modified by the user, for business or lifestyle - complete with engine noises. The phone is equipped with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, wireless 802.11b+g, Bluetooth v2.0+EDR and GPS and USB2.0 is compatible.

"The ZX1 is the first co-branded PDA phone from ASUS and is targeted at a very niche segment - people who have a penchant for style. PDA phones are increasingly becoming fashion gadgets and we chose Lamborghini in this endeavour because we share the same position in PDA phones as Lamborghini does in the automobile arena," said ASUS India Business Head Mobile Communication Business Edward Wang.

There will be a limited number of phones sold around the country. The first shipment is expected to arrive at the end of June and will bring in 100 such phones. ZX1 will sell for Rs 47,777 in the Indian market.
