MUMBAI:
European TV entertainment festival The Rose d'Or has attracted
402 entries for this year's event, which kicks off in Lucerne,
Switzerland, on 2 May 2008.
The
jury has chosen 75 programmes from 55 companies and 19 countries
to compete in the 48th edition.
Interestingly,
while British television content (31 shows in all) dominates
the nominees, there is only one American show Life.
Life,
an NBC Universal pilot, is a crime drama about a cop who returns
to the force after years of wrongful imprisonment.
Other
countries represented at the event include Germany and the
Netherlands with eight nominations each; Canada, France and
Denmark each managed to get three nominations.
There
are eight categories for prizes - arts documentary, comedy,
drama, sitcom, entertainment, gameshow, performing arts and
reality.
