MUMBAI: Tata Communications Ltd (TCL) and BitGravity have announced a strategic partnership to address the growing demand for high-quality video over the internet.

TCL will co-brand, resell and jointly market BitGravity's technology platform worldwide as part of a value-added services offering on top of Tata Global Network.

As part of the arrangement, TCL, which has presence in more than 200 countries across 300 PoPs, will provide tight integration with BitGravity's platform and their carrier-grade infrastructure, including collocation and IP-network capacity, and local sales presence in each region for the CDN offering.

BitGravity will provide technology and manage the content delivery operation. The service will be sold in Europe and Asia and branded as "Tata Communications CDN Powered by BitGravity."

"Internet-based video viewers want a high-quality, highly reliable experience that rivals television. BitGravity's platform has redefined video standards and created a user experience including high-definition, live and interactive video," said TCL SVP of global IP and VPN service Genius Wong.

"We selected BitGravity as the technology partner based on its scalability, reliability and industry-leading innovation," Wong added.
