MUMBAI:
NDTV Imagine, the six-week-old general entertainment channel
from the NDTV stable, is all set to extend its prime time
starting 6.30 pm from 24 March with Angrezi Mein Kehte
Hain.
Produced
by Sidharth Basu's Synergy Adlabs, the new edutainment show
will entertain and teach viewers how to communicate effectively
in English.
"A
huge bulk of viewers in our country believe that good and
effective language is the only ticket to opportunity, and
thus they have aspiration to learn English," avers Basu
to indiantelevision.com. "The show is in response
to the aspirations of that audience who wants to acquire the
skill."
Angrezi
Mein
is set in a classroom of a varied collection
of students. Shernaz Patel, who played Rani Mukherjee's mother
in Bollywood blockbuster Black, will teach the essentials
of the language.
Patel,
as "Arpita Madam," will not only motivate her students
reagarding the correct use of English but also explain situations
to them from their points of view.
The
actors will play students hailing from different parts of
the country and from diverse social backgrounds like a salesman,
a housewife, a business man, a working woman, a shopkeeper,
a student, among others. All of them are there to learn spoken
English.
Each
episode will teach one lesson, followed by funny and entertaining
acts to make it enjoyable for the whole family, claims the
channel. In addition, each episode will culminate with a song,
highlighting the lesson for the evening.
