DELHI: Media Transasia India today announced the appointment
of Simon Clays as the editorial director of its expanding
men's lifestyle magazine division.
Clays
will be responsible for the ongoing development of India's
leading men's lifestyle title Maxim and international
music title Blender to be launched in May, and a raft
of other projects that the company has planned.
Media
Transasia India president Xavier Collaco said, "With
this appointment, we envisage a key strategic role for Simon
in helping us consolidate our position as the leading provider
of lifestyle and social networking information to Indian men
across multiple media platforms."
Clays'
first major responsibility will be to oversee the launch of
Media Transasia India's next big licensed print release, America's
fastest-growing music magazine Blender.
He
comes with plenty of experience with over a decade as editor-in-chief
in a variety of core men's lifestyle sectors including sport,
consumer technology, cars, home entertainment, music and videogames.
He
was also the re-launch editor of Stuff, UK's number
one gadget magazine and launch editor of Goal!, a fortnightly
football title.
A
statement from the company says that Clays is on familiar
turf in India, as in his latest four-year tenure as international
manager for Dennis Publishing's Maxim magazine, he
was pivotal in its launch and subsequent re-design in September
2007.
He
has also launched and re-launched Maxim in over 20
countries around the world including China, Thailand, the
Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Israel, Greece and the
bulk of Eastern Europe.
