MUMBAI:
The 8th edition of Frames, which is the convention for the
business of media and entertainment, takes place from 25-27
March 2008 in Mumbai.
Switzerland
is the partner country for the event.
As
is well known, Switzerland is a favourite location for Indian
filmmakers. Bollywood also provides a strong link between
the consumer and a tourist destination.
Every
year, around 25 Hindi films are shot in Switzerland due to
its picturesque locales.
Swizerland
was first used as a location by the Indian film industry back
in 1960. Sangam and An Eveninjg in Paris were
the first Indian films to be shot there.
In
2002, Yash Chopra was presented with an award by the Swiss
Government for his efforts to promote that country as a filming
location. The following year, Bollywood badshah Shah
Rukh Khan was given the same honour.
