MUMBAI: Beach Soccer World Wide (BSWW) has signed a deal with Total Sports Asia for the exclusive distribution of media rights in Asia.

Under the agreement, TSA will distribute all television, broadband and mobile platform rights to all territories in Asia (excluding Middle East until 2009).

Media rights for events included for distribution are the European Beach Soccer League and the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifying Matches, and various other international beach soccer events.

BSWW head of media and TV Alex Soriano says, “Beach soccer is more than just a fun sport; it brings people together. With the support of the number-one media agency in Asia, we will be able to show the sport to the Asian community and make a huge step towards success.”

TSA SVP for media Julian Jackson says, “Beach soccer offers great alternative viewing for football-hungry fans in Asia. The sandy surface requires players to possess excellent aerial ball skills and flair not ordinarily practiced nor seen in football. This makes fantastic TV viewing.”

Beach soccer focuses on some of the most spectacular aspects of modern football - skill, agility and the ability to score many goals. The action is encompassed in beach lifestyle, and the irregular nature of the soft-sand playing surface lends itself to an entertaining style of play.
