MUMBAI:
The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board will meet in
Dubai on 17 and 18 March 2008 with one director Arjuna Ranatunga
from Sri Lanka attending for the first time.
The
topics that will be discussed include the appointment of the
next CEO. With the current CEO Malcolm Speed set to step down
at this years ICC Annual Conference in June/July, the
board will be asked to consider a recommendation from the
four-person sub-committee tasked with overseeing the appointment
of his successor.
The
sub-committee consists of Ray Mali, David Morgan, Sharad Pawar
and Creagh OConnor.
The
ICC Board will consider the format for the 2011 World Cup
which will take place in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri
Lanka.
A
discussion will also take place relating to issues surrounding
the Indian Premier League's (IPL) Twenty20 tournament as well
as the Indian Cricket League (ICL) and the proposed Champions
Twenty20 event.
