MUMBAI: Walt Disney Company is in talks with the New South Wales (NSW) government for a piece of land in Sydney foreshore.

According to local reports, the NSW state government has recently held unsolicited talks with the Walt Disney Company about redeveloping White Bay.

Neither the government nor Disney would comment on what the discussions were regarding, leaving speculation open as to whether Disney had plans for a Disneyland theme park, a Disney resort, or any other project.

Currently, there are no firm plans for the working port next to the Anzac bridge, and the government is actively seeking a plan to transform it.

Sydney lost its only theme park, Wonderland, in 2004, when a lack of interest saw the park being closed. It had been the largest theme park in the Southern Hemisphere.

Disney holds 11 theme parks and resorts around the world.
