MUMBAI: Paramount Pictures, an arm of Viacom, Inc, has announced that on 4 March it will release the last title of the studio releases on the HD DVD format.

Thus, Paramount has cancelled all its upcoming HD DVD releases, with the exception of forthcoming titles Into the Wild and Things We Lost in the Fire.

The cancelled releases include the 11 March release of Dreamworks' Bee Movie and the 1 April release of Sweeney Todd.

Recently, DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg stated that his studio would remain HD DVD exclusive until they were "notified by Toshiba that their exclusivity deal had been terminated."

Apart from Paramount, Universal, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros Entertainment, Walt Disney Co and Twentieth Century Fox have already joined the Blu-ray league.
